Healthy Holiday Snacking

by

Smart snacking is a great way to get through the holiday season without packing on the pounds. If you get in the habit of having a well-balanced breakfast and then eating a small meal or snack every three to four hours, you'll keep your blood sugar stable and won't have a tendency to overeat at those holiday parties. Here are a few festive snack ideas:

  • Pumpkin puree mixed with Greek yogurt, topped with crushed pecans (you can use canned pumpkin but make sure it's unsweetened)
  • Whole grain toast with almond butter and unsweetened apple butter, topped with cinnamon
  • Toasted pumpkin seeds
  • Apple slices dipped in Sunbutter
  • Edamame hummus with veggies (carrots and radishes are great!)
